I just finished another exciting episode of Reading Rainbow. Getting kids to read seems like a never ending battle. Kids these days have too many iPods, video games, and distractions that keep them from reading. Ask my little brother, he's practically illiterate. I was always reading books as a kid because it was fun and allowed me to discover stories that I still like to read over and over. It bothers me when I hear people at school complain that the book was "too hard" or "I didn't understand it." Come on. Sound it out.
Reading Rainbow was a great show. I always enjoyed Levar Burton bumbling around with his guests, or going off to interesting places. I'm sure it will be in reruns forever on PBS. Good show. But don't take my word for it.
The older theme is way better than the new version. The echo effect is awesome.

love that echo.. its embeded in my brain forever.
I wish they still did shows like Reading Rainbow. I liked the part when they showed the book of the day. More shows should encourage reading.
