The smart car.
I'm not sure why I first thought they were kinda cool. People say they look like tiny car deathtraps. I'm sure If I lived in a metropolitan area it would make more sense to own one. But I've seen a few of them around town(s) since they became available to the public.

I think it contradicts the American way of thinking: Big guns, big engines, and wide open spaces. People are more concerned with the amount of cup holders than the actual fuel efficiency of a tiny space car. So its a car with a motorcyle engine? That isn't new. They've been doing it in India since cars were allowed to run over crippled lepers.
I can see this becoming an option for city driving, where most fuel efficiency suffers. I guess you could drive one out west, but it would look a little small next to the big SUV's and trucks people drive out here.
