the problem

Angry folks.

Apparently our computer system has been ignoring Federal Regulation D on all of our accounts. People woke up this morning with a bunch of fees attached to their accounts. The real problem isn't necessarily our failed computer system, but the management that still tries to stand behind a flawed product. The Board of Directors finally voted to replace this terrible "experimental system" with a better stable thing. Honestly, its been nothing but trouble since its inception.

The program slows down to a crawl and prohibits transactions from taking place on accounts. Think of all the folks swiping their cards everywhere, every one of them getting declined for no reason. Yeah its that crazy. Some days are so bad that we probably should have shut down entirely, rather than try to apologize for the failing computer system.

Two years of excuses, angry people, and endless phone calls. Can you see why I dread coming to work everyday? Everything shuts down. Simple updates to the software make the rest of the system inoperable.

Apparently it was part of a beta testing for a local software company who had never really developed a system for a financial institution before. Can you see where the problem starts? It gets better. The head of the programming is the spouse of one of the higher ups. A Vp.

Conflict of interests? Are the alarms going off? I'm surrounded by crazy people.
