teeth

I was watching Bobby Flay make delicious chili on the Food Network. At the same time a dentist was craning over my open mouth drilling away at a bad filling at the back of my mouth. After all the sucking, drilling, packing and scraping, my bad filling was removed and replaced with a new one. Some decay that was under the filling was worse than the dentist had thought. He said I'll more than likely have to crown it some day.

That rotten tooth will be the death of me.

Right now my face is numb. I hate it.

snow

Snow. I don't mind the cold part.

We took it easy yesterday, for the holiday.

We braved the storm and made it to our dentist appointment. I didn't have any cavities, but they're going to replace a filling I've had that's been bugging me. Nat had a couple of cavities. I got a new toothbrush and was told not to brush so hard. It was my first visit to the dentist in 3 years. I'm a horrible person.

I ended up writing some more rough ideas for the weird book. I've drawn some more cartoons as well, but don't have the time to scan them in yet.

Got on the computer and tried to find some good music from the infinite expanse of cyberspace. I've decided to give R.E.M. another chance.

I've got a mountain of books to read this semester. I'm almost halfway three Holocaust books for one of my classes... I'll be honest, while the material is griping, I'm really getting sick of the Holocaust. I've never studied the subject in depth, but the blood and guts are making me sick. Unfortunately the semester has just started and I need to pass this class in order to graduate.

Still want to get around to making some cool music sometime. I've been putting it off for like 4 years, but still. I guess I've been over thinking it.

Want to go to some used book stores. I'd like to get some of those weird sci-fi novels from the 1960's that my dad used to read. Probably going to need some more bookshelves soon. Don't know when I'll ever find time to read them any time soon.

Pokémon Battle 2008

I have challenged my younger brother Ryan to a Poké battle royale. I'm no master of the prepubescent card game, but when I see a challenge, I rise to the occasion. Cards with anime animals... how hard could it be?

The stakes are high: if I win, Ryan dumps his girlfriend. If I lose, I have to get a divorce. Man... that sucks. But it is a small price to pay for Pokémon victory.

I'm sure we could designate other penalties... Like loser gets hit in the nuts really hard, or has to take a naked lap around the house in the snow. Winner should get a cake with his (or her, in Ryan's case) likeness on it, with fireworks or something.

Now I admit that some of you out there are thinking, "Why didn't Davy think of this sooner?" I know. Pokémon battle is long overdue... but now is the time.

GLORY!!!!

disclaimer: I am not serious. Really. I am never going to divorce Nat. Honestly, when am I ever serious? The only thing I'm serious about is making Ryan cry and wish he were back in jr. high peeing in his pants with fright. There's no possible way for me to lose anyway, I'm like the evil genius of stupid nerd games. Ryan if you are out there, you better run and hide like the baby sister you are because in Pokémon you gotta catch 'em all.

blog

Down over there on the right-hand side of this here blog you'll notice a new link to another blog of mine: story time poncho. I've been thinking of an idea for a book for the last few months, and during Christmas break was able to write some ideas down. I've even drawn some pictures as concept art, to help me develop characters and motivate myself.

Don't get all bent out of shape! I haven't posted anything yet, but I will once I get around to it.
